Let’s talk about the City. Let me just start off by saying that I LOVE Whitney Port. (Isn’t she gorgeous?) I watched her on the Hills and instantly loved her. She just seems like a person who I’d instantly be friends with. She kind of reminds me of my friend Nikki. Whitney’s just very personable and sincere. On The Hills, Whitney was Lauren Conrad’s co-worker/therapist/shoulder-to-cry-on. Her genuine positivity and level-headedness just made her stand out next to her dramatic co-stars.
So Whitney went from being a good listener and advice-giver at Teen Vogue and People’s Revolution and moved to New York to further her career in fashion. Season one of The City introduced us to a new group of friends (and lovers). Didn’t think too much of Jay. (I’ve learned to stay away from cute Australians!)
Season two has really focused in on Whitney and her new friend Roxy (ugh!) and the lauch of Whitney Eve (Whitney’s fashion line). It reminds me of what The Hills used to be like: drama here and there, friendships and love, and career-driven young women. It seems like The Hills is all about nothingness and petty drama about more nothingness.
Okay, so here’s why I don’t like Roxy Olin: for all you super-obsessed Hills fans, not that I’m super-obsessed…well…anyway, Roxy first appeared on The Hills as Stephanie [she]Pratt’s little sidekick at the confrontation at Opera Nightclub where Stephanie confronts Brody and Lauren saying psycho things like, “Brody…what are you doing on the dark side? …Come home with us!” Uhm…what a crazy bitch, right? Well, suddenly good ol’ Roxy goes from being Stephanie’s fighting buddy to appearing on The City?? Super sketch. It seems that Roxy and Whitney went to high school together. I’m over it. Maybe Lauren can make a guest appearance as Whitney’s pal again? Or just bring a new girl in altogether. One that isn’t affiliated with the Pratt family. Oh, and don’t get me started on Olivia Palermo.
Anyway, I haven’t really been keeping up with the show as much as before, but I always catch up on mtv.com since they have all the episodes available to watch online for free. In fact, I think I’ll do that right now!
P.S. I love Kelly Cutrone. “You can kiss her on the forehead, but if I were you, I’d hold a gun to her back and tell her to stand up straight.” Loveit.
You can find more information about The City and watch full episodes on The City website.
So after modern dance class last night I went to The Block in Orange and finally got together with my friend Alex. I hadn’t seen him in a while and I just missed him, so it was nice to catch up just like old times.
We watched Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. (Btw, there were crazy lines for Eclipse. I felt tempted to yell “TEAM JACOB!” at the crowds, but I resisted.)
I thought it a good summer action flick. It felt like I was watching the action adventure I had always wanted to go on. (No, I don’t mean riding on a motorcycle being man-handled by Tom Cruise…maybe Zac Efron…that’s besides the point)
I liked how the movie was filmed in different countries. I just liked the variety. The plot was good and the acting was good, too. Tom Cruise IS a handsome man, even if he is a little coo-coo. I liked Cameron as a ditzy damsel.
Alex and I did food and music after the movie. T’was a good night. 🙂
I like the Twilight Saga movies, although I must admit when I was watching the first movie, I thought some of the acting was…intense. lol So everyone is quite excited about the new addition to the saga: Eclipse. There’s no doubt I’ll be watching this movie and I’m sure it’s going to rake in a pretty penny.
The Twilight ladies vamp it up for a Vanity Fair shoot.
Check out other shots from the shoot:
Miss Dakota Fanning is all grown up!
These ladies look gorgeous! [Clockwise from top: Bryce Dallas Howard, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Julia Jones, and Nikki Reed] Very beautiful. I think this movie will be better than the previous ones (yes, I went there). So the question is: Will YOU be watching?
You can see these pictures and the whole story on Vanity Fair.
How many of you guys are familiar with Aang? I’ve been a long time fan of the cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender. It’s an American series with an anime style. It’s not quite as graphic or violent (or dark) as most anime, but it’s just so cute and really entertaining. There are four nations in the series: Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, Water Tribe, and Air Nomads. There are certain people who can manipulate, or “bend,” their respective elements. The world is thrown off balance when the Fire Nation seizes control over the other nations. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, can restore balance on earth and end the war. Aang, the Avatar, is only eleven years old and hasn’t quite mastered all four elements. He makes friends along his journey and it’s just a really fun and interesting story. I’m for sure a big fan!
So needless to say, I’m so excited about the new movie! When I first heard about the movie being in production I was so sad that I didn’t audition. Then I heard it was going to be done by M. Night Shyamalan and that made me nervous. On one hand you have Signs and on the other you have The Happening. I feel like it’s it’s either a hit or miss with Mr. Shyamalan. From the trailers I’ve seen of The Last Airbender it looks amazing! It’s a big block buster production and I love it! There’s a scene where there’s some sort of storm in the ocean or something…oh…my…Airbender. I love it!!
All of the bending I’ve seen just looks so cool. I’ve seen merchandize being sold, too. I saw a friend wearing a fire nation t-shirt at a club last week (lol). So the question is: which nation do I belong to? (Wow. What…a…nerd. I just heard myself.)
The movie comes out everywhere July 1st. (OMG that’s next week! Eek!) It will be available in 3-D. I will for SURE be watching. Will you?
[For all of you crazy Airbender fans, where is this from: “Avatar state! Yip yip!” LOL]
You can find more information on the movie on the Official Last Airbender Site.
Alright, so if you haven’t done so already make sure you follow me on Twitter! @adn24
Twitter is truly addicting to me. I tweet all the time! When I’m not tweeting, I’m reading tweets or possibly re-tweeting (publishing someone else’s tweet). It’s just interesting to read what people have to say 140 characters or less. Some people are obviously very boring: “Just woke up. Gonna shower and head to work.” Uhm…lame sauce. But there are other people who are insanely clever and sometimes even controversial. I’m always amused (sometimes offended) by my friends Carmen (@Crambam) and Daniel (@YayImCool), among others, of course. It’s also very popular for celebrities to tweet. Chelsea Handler (@chelseahandler), of Chelsea Lately, always has the funniest tweets.
Tweeting is like a condensed version of blogging. It’s short and sweet. So there you are! If you’re thinking about joining the menacing world of Twitter, I say DO IT! Join and follow me! haha

So I wanted to mention how I finally got a MacBook Pro this semester and I’m so glad I did! I absolutely LOVE my MacBook. I have the 13″ size; I figured I should get a laptop that’s kind of like me: a bit compact and chic. LOL!
I have converted from a PC to a Mac and I’m lovin’ it!
I often thought about blogging on my new laptop about random things I found interesting. And here we are! Maybe it won’t be exactly the Carrie Bradshaw experience, but it’ll certainly be just as posh.
I’ve mostly used it for school: writing papers, power point presentations and internet use. Since I have an iPhone, I use iTunes often and iPhoto. I’ve also explored iMovie and Garage Band. I really like my little macbook friend.
If you don’t already have you, you should go out and get one!
Okay, so after Lauren Conrad left The Hills, I wasn’t sure what to make of the show. Although Audrina Patrige seems to be clueless when it comes to love and relationships sometimes, her beauty is undeniable.
She kind of reminds me of one of my friends. He’s gorgeous but comes across as ditzy from time to time. lol
I’m so excited to finally launch this blog. I haven’t blogged in about a year or so. My last blog was very personal and private. This time around I would like to share my blog with everyone who wants to read it.
When I talk to people about blogging they usually ask what I’ll write about. Well, I’ll be writing about things that I find interesting. TV, movies, music, fashion, celebrities, food, places I visit, and about any other happenings in my life. I usually tell stories of things that happen in my life that I feel other people might be able to relate to.
In the past, I’ve seen some MAJOR drama. Although drama does make these entries more interesting, we’ll just play things by ear and see how personal I get. Maybe I should put my life and my friend’s lives on blast! haha
I checked out a few different sites where I could possibly blog and I decided on WordPress.com. Although I can’t completely customize the layout, I think it’s flexible enough for everything I have in mind. It’s pretty easy to navigate. At the top you can find buttons that have links to other sites I have and an ‘About’ page with a bio and contact information. You can also find categories I’ve created for different entries. On the sides I have links to archives and recent posts. I’ve also decided to add a Twitter live feed so you can view my tweets from this site (but you can of course follow me directly on Twitter). You can also sign up to get e-mail alerts of new posts I have up so you know when to check out my blog. If you don’t want to do that, check back periodically. I’ll try and update often. I like pictures so I plan on having quite a few of those on here.
Let me know what you think of my blog and of any suggestions you may have!
I’m excited for this launch! Ahh!
Take care, guys.
